Karen Jean DeLong, age 72, of Niceville, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023, surrounded by her family. Karen was born to Emil and Carol Olson in Muskegon, Michigan.
Karen graduated from North Muskegon High School in 1969 and attended Muskegon Community College. She married Richard DeLong in 1970 and worked in the insurance industry for many years. She loved golfing with friends, spending time with her family and boating, especially spending summers on Lake Michigan. Karen was an incredible wife, mother and grandmother to nine grandchildren. She also loved animals, especially her beloved dog, Brandy.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Carol Olson. She is survived by her husband, the love of her life, Richard DeLong, whom she was married to for 53 years. Karen is also survived by her brother, Richard Olson of Corvallis, Oregon and her children, Michael DeLong (Tramayne) of Chicago, Illinois, Daniel (Agnieszka) DeLong of Venice, Florida, Michelle (Lucas) Wolfenden of Niceville, Florida; grandchildren, Hailey, Taylor, Drew, Nika, Mekenzie, Evan, Adam, Zoe and Ethan.
