Kevin Morgan, 64, of Freeport, FL, passed away Thursday, February 5th, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family. Kevin was born on October 1st, 1961, in Mineral Wells, TX, to Donald and Bonnie Morgan. He was the third of 4 children. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University and began his career with Eglin Air Force Base in 1983. On September 26th, 1992, Kevin married Joan Littlefield, whom he met while they were both working at Eglin. Throughout their marriage, they lived in Mary Esther, Niceville, and Freeport. Kevin retired from Eglin in 2020 after 37 years of service.
Kevin was a loving husband and father to his three children. He was actively involved in and encouraging of his children’s academics and athletics and later provided guidance and support in their career ventures. Kevin was an active member in his church and community. Through Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Church, Kevin was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a former Parish Council Member, and an usher. He was also a devoted volunteer with Food for Thought. For much of his life, Kevin enjoyed woodworking, a hobby where he completed several projects for his friends, family, and church. He was also known for his enthusiasm for Auburn football and Northwest Florida State College sporting events. During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling to Europe with his wife, Joan. Golf and disc golf were two of his favorite ways to spend some time outdoors. When he wasn’t woodworking or cheering for the Tigers in Jordan-Hare Stadium, Kevin could often be found on a paddleboard in the Choctawhatchee Bay, baking bread in his kitchen, or playing on the pickleball court.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Morgan; wife, Joan Morgan; son, Sam Morgan; daughter, Maggie Morrow and her husband, Travis Morrow; daughter, Monica Morgan; siblings, Michael Morgan and his wife, Maria, Michelle Perry and her husband, Mark, Rhonda Lechner, and her husband Jim; brother-in-law, Dan Littlefield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
