Lillie Mae Grayer, age 89, of Niceville, FL passed away July 16, 2023.
She was born September 27, 1933, the youngest of six children to George Barney Godwin and Pearl (Sullivan) Godwin in Quitman, Georgia. After completing high school she attended Georgia-Florida Community College in Valdosta.
On November 8,1955 she was joined in marriage to Kinzy Grayer Jr who was stationed at nearby Moody AFB. They went on to have five children. As an Air Force family, they moved around the US and Pacific before settling in Niceville. Lillie proudly served over 42 years in federal civil service, mostly as secretary to the commander of the 823rd Red Horse Squadron.
She is survived by three children; Michael K. Grayer of Navarre, FL; Darcy L. Keilholz (James) of Chamois, MO; Angela M. Brahmstedt (Doug) of Niceville, FL and daughter- in- law, Nina Grayer of Atoka, TN, ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, her husband and sons, Stephen C. Grayer and Timothy R. Grayer.
