Linda Anne Ferguson Flowers, at the age of 72, died in the early evening on October 23, 2025 at her family's Creekside-Niceville, FL home. She was surrounded by her family and neighbor, at the time of her transitioning. Born on November 1, 1952, Linda was a Florida native (Goulds-Miami) of Bahamian parents, to the late Randolph and Viola Darling; one of 13 children and the youngest of four girls.
She's known for loving the Lord, family (to include friends and the community) and clocks. In the midst of the loves of her life dwelled the spirit of service, entrepreneurialism and empowering others. She would always say "You have to meet people where they are at," to truly be effective and empathetic.
Wherever life took her, as a military spouse, she possessed a bright spirit, which thrived in community. She briefly served in the United States Army Reserves as a medic after service, she worked in respiratory therapy. From the late 80's through early parts of the 90's (and even today), she was known as the "Fashion Fair lady," a make-up artist for the Fashion Fair brand, which followed her from Lakenheath AFB, England, Tallahassee, Fort Walton Beach/Niceville and beyond. Those relationships served as a base and springboard for building a network and ultimately, lifelong friendships.
From Fort Walton's Kool 105 radio station, to Niceville/Fort Walton Beach Hospice and later the Department of Lottery, where she retired, she made a name for herself as a self-starter and one to jump in, to help, follow and even lead, when needed.
She later started her business, L and L Document Services, working as a public servant for the State of Florida, executing legal documents (wills, trusts, real estate loan closings), wedding ceremonies and more.
Community service included activities with:
- American Business Women Association - past President
- Odyssey of the Mind - regional and state judge
- Guardian ad Litem - volunteer for abandoned, neglected and abused children
- Church volunteer at Crosspoint - host/greeter, flower delivery, and emergency on call
- Served on Okaloosa County Electorial board, Bord of Appeals, County Construction Competency Board (chair and vice chair), Status of Women Board, and the Filipino American Association of Okaloosa County
She is survived by her husband, "big" Lee and her children (and "playfully as she was," the "favorite" child of the moment/day/week): Jerry, Tremonte and "little" Lee; her remaining brothers and sisters; the grandchildren; nieces, nephews; cousins, friends and the community from the Emerald Coast and beyond.
