Linda Latimore Obituary

Linda Latimore, age 71, passed away on March 6th, 2020 at the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 04, 1948.

After growing up in Ohio, Linda followed her heart and lived in several states. She resided in Ohio, Michigan, Northern and Southern California, Maryland, and in Florida. She lived in Maryland for 30+ years and in 2018 she moved to Fort Myers, Florida to live closer to her brother and sister. In January 2020, she moved to Niceville, FL to be closer to her nephew and his family. Friends and family were an essential part of Linda’s life.

While living in Maryland, Linda had a successful career as Data Manager at an Association Management Co. in Washington D.C. She retired from her position after 20 years with the firm and enjoyed the retired life playing cards, and bocce ball, and making new friends in South Florida. Everyone will remember Linda for her big heart, her colorful philosophies, and positivity.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Ruth G. Renner and her stepfather, Jess Alter of Alliance, Ohio, and her brother, Arthur A. DuReitz Sr. of Ft. Myers, FL and his father, Arthur F. DuReitz of Cleveland, OH.

Linda is survived by her loving sisters, Lois Hankin of Florida, Joan Landry and her husband William Landry of California, her nephew Arthur A. DuReitz Jr. and wife Gabriella Geier-DuReitz, and her children Philipp Geier and Julia Geier of Florida, and her sister-in-law Kathleen DuReitz of Florida.

By her request, there will be a cremation and interment of her ashes by Heritage Gardens Funeral Home in Niceville, Florida. In lieu of flowers, a tax-deductible donation may be made to UNICEF, Linda’s favorite charity.
