Lloyd Thomas Losinger Jr. was born on August 21, 1960 in Fort Benning, Georgia. Lloyd served as a volunteer firefighter before being hired full time. He continued to work through the ranks as a Lieutenant, Captain, and eventually Assistant Fire Chief during his 35 years at North Bay Fire Control District before retiring. Missing the job he loved so much, he returned to fire service as a Fire Inspection Captain at Ocean City-Wright Fire Control District. Lloyd was also a faithful member of his church, Valparaiso First Church. Lloyd passed away peacefully, with his wife by his side, on January 6, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd T Losinger Sr. and his mother, Czeslawa Losinger. He was also preceded in death by his adoptive father, Carl B. Tew and uncle, Robert Crandall.
Lloyd is survived by his wife of 41 years, Shannon Losinger. Lloyd leaves behind 9 children: June (Casey), Rebecca (Nic), Missy (Jacob), Kristen (Codey), Jeremy, Ashley, Kyle, Erica, and Toya. Lloyd leaves behind 9 grandchildren as well; Shane, Zachary, Bentley, Jason, Isaac, Chase, Carter, Annabeth, and Felicity. Lloyd is also survived by his aunt Joyce Crandall. Also surviving him are his sisters, Anna Hotelling and Angela Krog; and his brother, Bill Losinger.
A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 1pm at Heritage Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made to the FlyZone Children’s Ministry at Valparaiso First Church.
