Lora Knick Obituary

Lora Lynn Knick, age 55, received her heavenly wings on October 23, 2021 from injuries sustained from a hit-and-run accident on October 13, 2021 in Walton County, FL.  Lora is survived by her children, Coralynn and Christian, their father, Ken Machuta; parents, Dennis and Barbara Knick; sister, Kimberly (Mike) Dickerson, and her nieces; Raven, Melanie and Jessa; sister Karolyn (Mike) Berardi and her nephew Ben Berardi; aunt, Karen (Don) Schaffer (kids?); and aunt Lynessa (Tony, Brice, Aubrey) Knick-Koppenhofer.

Lora Lynn was born on September 24, 1966 to Barbara and Dennis Knick in Springfield, OH.  She graduated from the Medical College of Georgia with a degree in Occupational Therapy.  Her selfless love of others and desire to care for friends and strangers alike defined her life including her career as an Occupational Therapist.  Her greatest loves and joys in life were her children, her faith in Jesus, her family and the heart-beats at her feet; Kassie and Knickie.  These great loves are closely followed by her friends, her love of the Knick family name, her Blue Mountain Beach neighborhood family, helping anyone in need as well as anything purple or frilly.

Lora Lynn will be fondly remembered as a loving mother, daughter, wife, sister and friend by all who knew her.  She blessed us with her beautiful blue eyes, loving heart, irreverent laugh and whimsical smile.  She loved art and was a wonderfully talented artist whose art was inspired by love, nature, fairies and friendships.  Lora Lynn loved good music and traveling to exotic destinations across the world.  Of her many travels, she often spoke of her favorite places; France, Greece, Fiji and her home in Blue Mountain Beach.

Lora Lynn will be forever missed by her family and friends alike.  Despite our sorrow and loss, we celebrate her faith and take comfort in knowing she is free of pain, at home with our Lord in Heaven. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three, but the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)

The family would like to thank the many people who provided assistance to Lora at the accident site as well as the many medical team members who diligently worked towards a miracle.

A celebration of Lora Lynn’s life will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Kings Cross Church in Santa Rosa Beach, FL.                                                                                In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Lora’s favorite charities; Caring & Sharing and the Walton County food bank.
