Lottie Nobles Kirsch, 83, of Navarre, FL, passed away surrounded by family members on July 31, 2020, in Crestview, FL.
Born on September 18, 1936, in Florala, AL, Lottie graduated from Covington County High School in 1954 after attending school in DeFuniak Springs, FL until the family moved to Florala, Alabama.
Lottie began working with Civil Service at Eglin Air Force Base immediately after graduating from high school, adding just a little to her age to meet the 18 years old employment requirement. By the time the age mistake was discovered, she had become such a valuable employee that her bosses were more than happy to have her.
Lottie was finishing stewardess training for Pan American Airlines when she married the love of her life, Herman “Herb” Kirsch and they moved into their first home in Fort Walton Beach, FL. She and Herb moved from the Fort Walton area in 1964 as Herb worked managing stores in Louisiana, Texas, California, Arizona, and Nevada. During their time in California, Lottie and Herb traveled extensively in the western states. They especially loved Lake Tahoe and visited there often creating fond memories of the good times they shared in that beautiful place.
In each state they lived, Lottie would successfully resume her civil service career serving in many areas before retiring from FAA in Texas in 1997. The couple returned to the local area to be near family settling into their new home in Navarre. They were thrilled to be near the beaches of Northwest Florida again and enjoyed their retirement years walking on the beach and exploring the changes in the area. They were always up to new adventures and enjoyed the freedom of retirement to savor good food and beautiful places.
After her retirement, Lottie continued to travel for consultant jobs using her former civil service expertise completing assignments in Boston, Maine, and other northeastern areas.
Lottie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of almost 57 years, Herb Kirsch, her parents, Alcus and Fleta Nobles, her brother-in-law, Max Pridgen, her father and mother-in-law, Samuel and Bessie Kirsch, her sister-in-law, Lynn Kirschstein, and brother-in-law Milton Pentzer and wife, Kitty Pentzer.
Lottie is survived by her beloved son, Stanford Samuel Kirsch (Janet) of Sweet Home, Oregon, and sisters Martha Pridgen of DeFuniak Springs, FL and Linda Glass (Jerry) of Crestview, FL, nephews and nieces, Stephen Pridgen (Ronda) of Destin, FL, Sherri Davis (Mark) of Sweetwater, AL, Justin Glass of Crestview, FL, Leslie Glass Packard (Matt) of Pensacola, FL, and Michael Pentzer (Julie) of Los Angeles, CA, as well as great-nephews and nieces Stephanie Pridgen, Chase Pridgen, Madison Pridgen, Brett Davis (Jenna), Branson Davis, Luke Davis, Lindsey Davis, and very special friend to the family, Tommy Adams.
During their almost 57 years of marriage, Lottie and Herb traveled extensively to Hawaii, Alaska, most of the states in our country, as well as an extended visit to Singapore to visit with their son, Stan, when he was employed there as a chemical engineer. Lottie and Herb were not only a married couple; they were best friends and soulmates for eternity.
Lottie’s family was the most important thing in her life. She was a wonderful, loving and devoted wife and mother who always showed a deep love for Herb and Stan. No one could have loved her family more. Lottie was also devoted to her parents and sisters. When she was living far away from the family, it was always a celebration when Lottie was coming home for a visit. She brought loads of love, fun and excitement whenever she returned home. In the later years, as the three sisters would go out for lunches, her trademark was to have a sister on each side and give a big hug saying, “I love my sisters!” No one could hug like Lottie as she always really meant it.
Lottie’s son, Stan, was her pride and joy as she was always so very proud of him. Lottie was a very wonderful and special lady who will be greatly missed by all her family and those whose lives were touched by knowing her.
A private service for all the family members will be conducted by Rev. Mark Davis at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home in Niceville, FL.
