Malinda Johnson, 68, of Mossy Head, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025. She was born on August 5, 1957, at Patrick Air Force Base to Thomas and Lily Clouston.
A 1974 graduate of Fort Walton Beach High School, Malinda dedicated her life to her family and her community. For over 25 years, she worked at Simply Good BBQ in Mossy Head, Florida, where she built lifelong friendships and found a second family. Known for her kindness, calm spirit, and loving nature, Malinda touched many lives. She especially treasured her role as “Nana,” pouring her heart into time spent with her grandchildren.
Malinda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 32 years, Charles Johnson, along with her parents, Thomas and Lily Clouston.
She is survived by her significant other, Harry Salter; her daughter, Lisa Johnson, and son-in-law, Stephen Pearce; and her cherished grandchildren, Lily Pearce and Bryce Wolk.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home in Niceville, FL. Pastor Tony McCullough will officiate. A graveside ceremony will follow at Early Cemetery.
Malinda’s legacy of love, kindness, and family devotion will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
