Mark Edward Pittman, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He was 71 years old.
Born on April 23, 1954, in Pittsburg, California, Mark was the son of the late Edward and Emma Pittman. He lived a life marked by service, intellect, and unwavering good humor.
Mark dedicated 24 distinguished years to the United States Air Force, achieving a career that took him around the world and earned him the respect of his peers. His commitment to learning continued after his military retirement, culminating in a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Sciences. Beyond his professional life, Mark was a vital member of his community, receiving multiple awards from various organizations that recognized his dedication and generosity.
Mark's greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Kwi Ye Pittman, who stood by him with profound love and care. He was a proud and supportive father to his two sons and their families, David Pittman and Dennis (Mary Margaret) Pittman, and 4 grandchildren: Elijah, Easton, Emma, and Arlo. Mark is also survived by his loving sisters, Marsha Eiding and Martha Bullock.
Mark will be remembered for his constant sense of humor, always ready with a witty remark or a helping hand. He was the kind of person who was always willing to lend advice when needed, offering guidance rooted in his wealth of experience. In his leisure time, Mark enjoyed immersing himself in military history, building intricate model airplanes, and spending countless hours reading. Mark's collections were decades in the making and cherished by the family.
Mark Edward Pittman's legacy is one of selfless service, intellectual curiosity, and enduring warmth. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
