Mary Skipper Harris soared on to Glory on October 31, 2023, from The Manor at Bluewater Bay at the age of 96 years. She was born November 26, 1926, in Ashford, Alabama to Lee and Claudia Skipper and grew up In Panama City, Florida, as the oldest of eight children; Mary worked in retail sales until her retirement from Sears In 1975. In later years she worked for the Seminole senior citizens program. Mary and her family moved to Niceville in 1965 with husband's civil service job transfer from Brookley AFB in Mobile to Eglin AFB, Mary and her husband are charter members of the Palm ·chapel Primitive Baptist Church in Crestview, Florida. The couple selflessly volunteered their time and skills to family, friends and community needs, Throughout her life Mary enjoyed gardening, cooking, and sewing. Mary Is predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Arlie W. Harris; her granddaughter, Keely Hall; four brothers arid one sister,
Mary is survived by daughters Beverly Barbarisi (Dennis}, Destin and Sharron Land, Ft. Walton Beach; granddaughters Shanna Jenkins, Ft. Walton Beach and Hollie Huber (David), Plant City; sisters Hannah Olive, Ray City, Georgia and Elaine Herring (George), Woodville, Florida; great granddaughter, Karlee Jenkins, Ft. Walton Beach; and 4 Huber great grandsons Charlie, Carter, Colton, and Crockett, all of Plant City, Florida.
A visitation will be held at Heritage Gardens, Niceville, Florida on November 10, 2023, at 10:00 am followed by service at 11:00 am.
