Maxine Jennings, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister extraordinaire, very peacefully left this world for a much better one on August 20, 2021 at the age of 84. She was born in Chickamauga, Georgia on January 8, 1937 to Henry and Ora Jackson. On October 23, 1953, she married Ralph Jennings, who preceded her in death in 2010.
She and Ralph were followers of Christ and faithful members of First Baptist Church of Valparaiso for many years where Maxine served as pianist, organist, choir member, and bell choir member.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Hendrix (Arnold); sons, Don Jennings (Andrea), and Marc Jennings (Rachel). She also leaves behind grandchildren, Lecia (Matt), Meredith (Michael), Sterling (Mallory), Maranda (Caleb) and Brittany (Cooper); great-grandchildren Jon, Aspen, Iris, Aurora, William and Davis; and a sister, Carolyn Walker (Lebron). She also leaves behind several cousins.
Maxine’s celebration of life service will be Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Cornerstone Worship Center (First Baptist Church of Valparaiso), at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am.

A graveside service will follow at Heritage Gardens Cemetery, with Caleb Cochran presiding.
