Mimi Wooten Bruening, 73, died on July 11, 2023 in Charleston, South Carolina.
Born in Charleston, South Carolina on June 6, 1950, she lived with zeal as a wife, mother, sister, friend, singer, dancer, pianist, artist, student, and teacher.
A graduate of St. Andrews High School (1968) and the College of Charleston (1972), she was married for nearly 41 years to Bill Bruening (The Citadel, Class of 1971). Widowed in 2013, Mimi moved to Mount Pleasant, South Carolina in 2016. She is survived by her son Stuart Bruening of Marietta, Georgia, his wife Devin and their son Jackson, daughter Delaney and son Coleman; her daughter Alexis Stuckey of Palm City, Florida, her husband Bill and their sons Cooper and Maguire; and her brother Frank Wooten of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and his wife Teresa.
Mimi made many dear friends through the decades, including sweet members of the Memory Care staff at Shem Creek Health Center in Mount Pleasant.
