Lt. Colonel (ret) Noble E. Morton of Niceville, Florida, reported for duty in Heaven on July 15, 2020, at the age of 78.
Noble was born in McComb, Mississippi, to Elmore and Johnnie Morton, December 27, 1941. He graduated from Central High School in Jackson, Mississippi in 1959. He enlisted in the Mississippi Air National Guard at the age of seventeen and served for six years. After graduating from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1965, he received his commission in the United States Air Force, which he served for twenty-four years, retiring in 1989 after a distinguished career. He was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Niceville, later Crosspoint Church, where he worked as an administrator in the early 1990s. Later he served as a part-time deputy with the Okaloosa County Sherriff’s Department.
He loved God, his family, and his country. He enjoyed serving the community with the Rotary Club and watching sports, especially the Los Angeles Rams. He loved to laugh and was known for his practical jokes and wit. Nothing gave him more joy than time spent with family.
Noble was preceded by his parents and is survived by his wife, Sue; sons, Taylor and Clay; daughters-in-law, Carissa and Gail; and grandsons, Thomas, Joshua, and Jacob. His brother Bayless lives in Flowood, Mississippi, with his wife, Pat.
The family plans to celebrate Noble’s life with a memorial service at some point in the future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Noble’s memory to Crosspoint Church, https://crosspoint.church/givenow/. Please send the donations to Crosspoint of Niceville directly 214 S.
