Patricia Alice Brennan, Lt Col, USAF (Ret), passed away on November 3, 2024 at the age of 79. She was born on December 31, 1944, in Newport, Rhode Island and grew up in Southington, Connecticut. Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Jack, and her parents, Mary Stewart Degnan and Milton Degnan.
After high school, Pat attended Catherine Laboure School of Nursing in Boston. In 1965, she began her career as a nurse in the US Air Force. She was assigned to USAF Hospital/Royal AF Bentwaters in England. In 1972, she was assigned to Tachikawa AFB in Japan. After two years, she went to The University of Pennsylvania to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her next assignment was to Kunsan AB, Korea where she met Jack, the love of her life. They were married in 1979 in Sumter, South Carolina, while both were stationed at Shaw AF Base. Pat retired in 1991 after 26 years of service.
After retirement, Pat and Jack moved to Niceville, Florida. They joined Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Church, where they gave generously of their time and talents. Pat was the choir director for many years, served on the Parish Council and the Building Committee, and organized the annual Mardi Gras Party for many years. Pat and Jack loved to entertain. Their St. Patrick’s Day Party was an event everyone loved to attend. Pat was always there to bring a meal, to help others, or to organize a Block Party.
Pat was a proud member of the Society of Air Force Nurses and served as National President for four years. Pat and Jack spent 6 weeks every summer at “the cottage” built by Pat’s dad on Leetes Island, Connecticut. They were avid dog lovers and world travelers.
Pat is survived by her sister Sheila McCarron, niece Colleen McKenna (Richard), nephews Michael McCarron (Cathy) and William McCarron Jr. (Tammy), and sister-in-law Joan DeCota.
