Patricia Corapi Harris died Feb. 14, 2026, at the age of 92. She was a proud Italian-American who grew up in Bellaire, Ohio to immigrant parents. She graduated from Ohio State University and married William E. (Bill) Harris in 1955. He was a career Air Force officer, and the family grew to six children as they moved around the U.S. and the world. The family settled in Montgomery, Alabama, after retirement.
Pat began a practice as a Registered Dietitian and was instrumental in passing laws and regulations to ensure dietitians held to professional qualifications. She was a passionate traveler, with numerous trips to Italy and her favorite U.S. cities, San Francisco and Boston. Pat received Italian dual citizenship in 2025.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen McQueen (John), and by her husband, William Harris, who died March 27, 2025.
Pat is survived by five children: Lisa Harris (Phil Turkett), Matt Harris (Carol), Jean Harris, Greta Duckett (Brad), and Carla Kruger (Joe); grandchildren Genevieve Turkett, Anna Turkett, Jesse Harris (Shauna), J.P. Harris; and three great-grandchildren. She was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews in the family of her late sister Bea Gillooly (Richard).
Interment is scheduled for April 3, 2026 at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
