Patricia Hodges was born on December 20, 1936 in Lynchburg, Va. She passed peacefully in the presence of her devoted husband Don Hodges on August 10, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reva and Henry Riley, her sister, Francis Ewing, and her aunt Francis Woolwine. Patricia is survived by her husband Don Hodges, Sons William Amman and John Devine, her daughter Donna Lambert, her six grandchildren and her great-granddaughter.
Patricia graduated from Mary Washington with a master’s in biology. She was a loving schoolteacher for many years as well as a pillar of her community. She was the first president of the local Women’s Aglow International, in addition, to being the first president of the area Aglow International. She served the community for many years as the assistant pastor of Living Waters Church alongside of her husband, Pastor Don Hodges. In her years of service to the Lord, Patricia traveled to Africa, India, the Soviet Union, and Mexico, among many other countries spreading the word of the Lord.
In her own community she was an advocate and devoted servant to those less fortunate. Every Friday she cooked for and hosted dinners at her church for those less fortunate, and every Sunday she invited the congregation of her church into her home to share a meal after service. Patricia extended her generosity beyond mealtimes by opening her home to anyone who needed to find peace and refuge in order to reclaim their lives.
Through acts of service within her community and internationally Patricia Hodges was an exemplary model of Christ like love and generosity.
