Patricia Ann Lampton

We are saddened to announce the death of our Mom, Grandmother, and friend, Patricia Ann Bonham Lampton. Our hearts are broken knowing that we will no longer have her physically with us, but rejoice in the assurance that, one day, when God calls us home, we will see her again.

Patricia was born on July 22, 1932, near Lyman, Oklahoma, to Merl Raymond Bonham and Ruby Deane Ramsey Bonham. She passed away August 19, 2026, in Niceville, Florida, at the age of 94. She was the second child born to Merl and Ruby, and was a feisty, funny, strong-willed, and never-give-up type of woman. She kept her family and friends entertained with the many stories she shared about her childhood and teen years of growing up in Oklahoma and surrounding states as they moved to various oil fields with her dad’s career, the family situations of that time period, and the people who helped shape her life and strengthened her faith in the Lord. Many stories occurred in the towns in and near Ralston and Fairfax,

Oklahoma. Her grandparents William and Martha Miller Bonham’s home and her aunt and uncle, Margaret and Richard Teeman’s homes were often the center of family gatherings with cousins, aunts, and uncles. These homes also provided her with safety, love and a place to stay throughout her growing up years.

She graduated from Fairfax High School in Oklahoma in 1949. Shortly after graduation, another move related to her father’s work in the oilfields, took her family to the area around Perry, Oklahoma. There she worked in a diner/drug store and met a young Air Force man named Glen Lampton who had stopped in to eat. The rest, as they say, was history.

Pat and Glen were married in Fairfax, Oklahoma, on December 1, 1950. Their early married life took them to Air Force bases throughout the south. When Glen was transferred to Eglin AFB in the late 1950s, they bought property in the small Seminole Subdivision community near Niceville. This is where they were living when their daughter Peggi was born in 1960. Following Glen’s final Air Force transfer and retirement from Columbus, MS, in 1965, the family returned to their home in Seminole Subdivision. This was home.

Patricia found joy in the simple things. She loved gardening and buying flowers, a passion she continued to do even in her 94th year. She inherited from her family a love for reading. For years, every two weeks, she would visit the library, check out a stack of books, read them and return for more. She was also a talented seamstress who made many beautiful clothes. She loved bright, sparkly, colorful jewelry and turquoise jewelry. And we cannot forget her enjoyment of shopping (especially at Walmart where she and Peggi could be found for a couple of hours every Friday). One of her love languages was buying her family their favorite foods or tempting them with a new favorite. Her family was always more than happy to be a receiver to this love language.

Pat had been a member of Parkway Baptist Church/Northbay Baptist for many years and enjoyed teaching Sunday School and arranging flowers for the church.

Patricia leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and whose lives were changed forever by knowing her. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Peggi and David Jeffcoat, Niceville, FL, Grandchildren Andrea (David) Oliver, Crestview, FL, and Chip (Ereka) Jeffcoat, Niceville, FL; great grandchildren Abigail Oliver, Reagan Oliver (Ellie), Jackson Oliver, Emalyn Jeffcoat and Cooper Jeffcoat, and one great-great grandson Carter Oliver. She is also survived by sisters, Sherral Creek and Becky Bonham Ramsey.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Glen W. Lampton, sisters Shirley Hawkins and Delores Roberts; her father and stepmother, Merl and Marie Bonham; brother Gabriel Bonham; her mother and stepfather Ruby and A.T. Miller; and her stepbrothers James Leroy Miller, Kenneth Miller, and JT Miller.

Her visitation and funeral will be held at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 25. Visitation will be at 1:00 and Funeral Services will be at 2:00 with Jeff Ryan officiating. Burial will be at Heritage Gardens.
