Peter Kimple Obituary

Peter C. Kimple (Colonel, USAF RET) passed away November 15, 2025. He was born to the late Lyle C. Kimple and Anne S. Kimple in 1945, in Beaver PA. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Margaret A. Kimple; son, Michael C. Kimple of Rome GA; daughter-in-law, Julia A. Kimple of Rome GA; and granddaughter Marissa J. Kimple of Rome GA.  Peter passed away peacefully in his sleep after a 20 year fight against Parkinson’s disease.

He was a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Bachelor of Management Engineering 1967), Southern Illinois University (Master of Business Administration 1971), and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (MS in Environmental Management 1995). He devoted over 40 years to the United States Air Force and the defense of our great nation as an officer and contractor. He served as an engineer, manager, and executive on numerous Air Force programs including Minuteman, Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS), Electronic Warfare Systems, Air to Ground munitions systems, B-2 bomber, and the F-16 fighter. In addition, he was selected to provide support to numerous programs as a personnel manager, Inspector General, special assistant to the commander, and focal point for acquisition of aircraft and systems for foreign governments.

After retirement from the Air Force, he worked for Waste Management for 5 years as a site manager and Division President. After working for Waste Management, he returned to the defense sector as a consultant with Dayton Aerospace Inc. Dayton Ohio for more than 10 years. In that capacity, he provided comprehensive and high-level technical and management advice and assistance to government program offices and civilian contractors supporting those programs. He was a life member of the Military Officers Association and the Air Force Association.

Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter’s name can be made to Children’s Advocacy Center, Post Office Box 1237, Niceville FL 32588-1237  or www.eccac.org.
