Richard Alvin Barber, age 63, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 22, 2021. He was the only son of Coy and Lura Fay Barber and was born on February 3, 1958 in Paris, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind son, Chris Barber (Wendy) of Paris,Texas, daughter Rachel Riggs (Steve) of Freeport, Florida, Katie Hulme (Kyle) of Crestview, Florida, daughter Miranda Pickard of St. Petersburg, Florida, three granddaughters, Kylie, Izzy and Katelyn, and two grandsons, Jacob and Logan, as well as many nieces and nephews, family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on July 9, 2021 at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home in Niceville, Florida. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm and the service will be at 3:00 pm. All are invited to attend. Richard loved his family and friends unquestionably. He always had a quick smile, a joke to tell or a country saying that you would only hear from him. He loved everything Texas and was proud to say everything was bigger and better in Texas. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and loved the Texas Longhorns, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Cowboys. Richard will be greatly missed by all. He would have said “I’m headed to the shed”, “Ta Ta for now”, or “See you in the funny pages”! As for now he’s “Gone to Texas”!
