Richard Wayne Cook

Richard “Rick” Wayne Cook, 61, of Niceville, Florida, passed away surrounded by loved ones on February 20, 2023 at his son’s home in Crestview, Florida, after his battle with cancer. Rick was born in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, on August 23, 1961 to Richard Wade and Ruby Dell Cook. Rick grew up in Niceville, Florida, alongside his sister, Lana Rochelle Henson, and his twin brother, Randall Wade Cook. 

Rick graduated from Niceville High School in 1979. He worked at C&J Floors for his father, volunteered at Niceville Fire Department and then retired after 29 years from Okaloosa Gas District. 

Rick was an avid outdoorsman who met many wonderful friends while hunting and fishing. Rick transformed his backyard into a hunters dream camp and opened it to many hunters and fishermen no matter the season. 

Rick is preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Cook, and grandparents, Ardell & Jewell Harrison. He is survived by his son Richard Duane Cook (Lyndsay), and his grandchildren, Jesse Nance and Cailyn Cook. Additionally, he is survived by his father, Richard W. Cook, sister, Rochelle Henson (RJ), her children Cole and Levi Mathews; twin brother, Randall W. Cook, his son Brandon (Casey) and their daughter, Colay.
