Robert Ray Blake, Sr., 91, of Valparaiso, Florida, formerly of Whiteford, Maryland, passed away Friday, July 25, 2025. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Scotten) Blake to whom he was married 71 years.
Born in Esty, West Virginia on October 8, 1933, he was the son of Arnold and Annette Blake. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Robert R. Blake, Jr., of Valparaiso, Florida. A son, William (Bill) Blake, and a daughter, Michelle Janis, preceded him in death. He is survived by grandson Robert R. Blake II, five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Virginia Wolfe of Whiteford, Maryland. Preceding him in death were brothers Frank Shinaberry, Ralph, Caroll and Summers (Jr.) Blake, sisters Mabel Boyce, Jessie Graver, Ruth Kilgore, and Nancy Roark.
Ray served in the U.S. Air Force from January 1954 to 1974 and was retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Valparaiso, Florida.
