Robert E Overton

Robert “Bob” Edward Overton left his earthly family on 11 January 2021, following a lengthy battle with COPD. Bob joined his family in heaven including his mother Hazel Hasty NEE: Jones, who preceded him in death on this day in 2009, his father Edward “Ted” Overton, mother in-law Margareta Hemming, and brother William “Bill” Adams. Bob served his country with distinction in the U.S. Army for over 20 years, more than half of which was in overseas assignments, including his first assignment in Germany where he met the love of his life, Klara Overton, and nearly four years in Vietnam. Bob and Klara were married for over 63 years and served as perfect role models for their sons and extended families. Bob is survived by his wife Klara; his son Robert “Randy” and wife Sandy; son Michael “Mike” and wife Sabrina; son Allan and wife Heather; 10 grand-children, and 3 great-grand-children. A Celebration of Life service will be held in Bob’s honor at 1:00 PM, on 6 February 2021, at the Choctaw Beach First Baptist Church.
