Roger Porter Wright

Roger Porter Wright known to us as “Rip”, “Ripper” “Dad” and “Pops” passed away Wednesday, September 30th, in the company of his loved ones.

Rip was many things: loving father, talented musician, boat captain, doting grandpa, loyal friend, and like his mother before him, the life of the party. He loved a packed bar with live music as much as the cold crunch of leaves on a tranquil Alabama morning. He believed salt water and a bit of sunshine healed most things, and he was right.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Barbara Wright and brother, William “Rock” Wright. He will be carried on in spirit by his three children, William Wright, Robert Wright, Annie Wilbur, the mother of his children, Karen Lewis, his two precious grandchildren, Josephine and Lincoln, nieces and nephews, and many close family members and friends.
