Ronald Allen Sanders

Ronald Allen Sanders of Crestview, Florida passed away on the morning of April 19th, 2025.

Ron was born on March 10, 1941 in his mother and father’s home, which was located at the edge of town, in Glenvil, Nebraska. His family moved to a farm near Geneva, Nebraska in 1943, where his father, Paul, supported the family through farming. Ron was a student at Grace Lutheran School and attended Geneva High School, where he graduated in 1959. Later in 1963, he joined the United States Navy where he was trained in the Electricians Mate School. After finishing school, he was sent to Charleston, South Carolina and served aboard the USS Charles F. Adams DDG-2.

In March of 1965, he was married to Lucinda (Cindy) Rich of York, Nebraska and returned back to Charleston shortly after to finish his Naval service. Ron was discharged in September of 1967 as an Electricians Mate 2nd Class. He and Cindy returned to Nebraska and he enrolled back in school at Central Community College (CCC) to achieve an Electronics Degree. He used this education to start an electronic repair business which he had for several years. Later, he attended night school again at CCC to earn another degree in Industrial Maintenance, which allowed him to work for Sundstrand Aerospace in York, Nebraska and M.C. Industries in Geneva, Nebraska.

In 2006, he and Cindy retired and moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico. Then in 2014, moved to Crestview, Florida to be closer to family, particularly their two granddaughters.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Cindy; his parents, Paul and Hilda Sanders of Hastings, Nebraska; his brother, Larry (wife Ingrid) of San Lorenzo, California; and sister, Shirley (husband John) Swales. He leaves behind his son, Michael (wife Julie), and his granddaughters, Chayla (12) and Grace (18) of Niceville, Florida; son, Brian, of Gilbert, Arizona; and sister, Rosemary (husband Jim), of Goehner, Nebraska.

Ron’s Celebration of Life will be held on June 7th at First Methodist Church of Crestview, Florida.
