Letter to my husband:
To the love of my life,
I chose you and you chose me. What a pair. You, a young airman in England and me, a French girl that couldn’t understand a word you said. We were meant to be together. Who walks their dogs at 6 am, on the beach in England! That was 36 years ago. We made a commitment to love and cherish each other. It wasn’t always easy, we had disagreements, but we all know I was always right of course! But we had our love, our devotion for one to another. That Love gave us our two beautiful daughters, Stephanie and Alison that you were so, so proud off. We grew together from two young people to two grandparents. Life was good. Then, the day came for a surgery you couldn’t do without anymore. You knew. You knew, that God had different plans, you talked about it so much, that you got me ready for this. Ready as much as I can be ready to lose the love of my life, my best friend, the one I left my family, my own world, my own language behind. I love you and always loved you and always will. I didn’t have time to say goodbye to you sweetheart. You went so fast. “I’m going to park the car, I’ll be right back”! We’re my last words to you. Yes, I’ll be right back, just wait for me, in your new home, with your Mom and Dad and beloved Chief. We will be back together as one again.
Love always.
Brigitte
