Sandra (Peters) Plant
On July 2, 2023, after an extended illness, Sandra P. Plant passed from this life to an eternal better life free of all pain and suffering. She was born July 10, 1944, in Pensacola, Florida and raised in Niceville, Florida. In Matthew 20:26-28 Jesus told his disciples “whoever would be great among you must be your servant”. Sandra’s special gift in life was undoubtedly her service to others. She always put others first, regardless of who they were, or their station in life. When she recognized a need she tried to fill it. Prior to their deaths, she was the primary care giver to her husband of 59 years Nickey Plant and her mother, Lou Merle Peters, both of whom needed special daily care in their later years. The care she gave them was given while she herself was in declining health. She did it anyway regardless of how she felt.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lester W. “Nickey” Plant, her father, Linton M. Peters, her mother Lou Merle Peters and her niece, Kimberly Linton Peters. She is survived by her brother, Jerry Peters (Linda), her nephew, Ken Peters (Mary), her grand- nieces, Sadie and Kaden Peters, her best friend Joy Love and her toy poodle, Sidney, who loyally stayed by her side through many painful days and nights. By God’s standards a” great” person passed and joined the company of those who have gone before. Sandra was a true servant indeed and for her life we are grateful.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 7, at 9:00am at Sunset Cemetery in Valparaiso, Florida with Pastor Billy Grimes officiating. You may go online to offer condolences to the family and sign the guestbook at www.heritagegardensfuneralhome.com. Heritage Gardens Funeral Home of Niceville is entrusted with the arrangements.
