Sara Elizabeth Price was a remarkable woman who will always be remembered for her unwavering compassion, love, and loyalty towards her family. Her passing on March 6, 2024, at the age of 88, has left a void in the hearts of all those who knew her. Sara was an exemplary wife, mother, granny, great-gigi, sister, and friend, who left behind a legacy of kindness and devotion that will continue to inspire generations to come. Born on January 5, 1936, in Caryville, Florida, to Robert and Sally Metcalf, Sara's life was a testament to the power of love and the importance of family.
In 1951, she met Dan Price, fell in love and got married on August 31st . They spent 68 years of their lives together.
Sara devoted 26 years following Dan, who served in the United States Air Force. During this time, they had the opportunity to travel and explore different parts of the world including bases in Hawaii, Montgomery Alabama, California, and Valparaiso Florida, where they eventually retired. Sara worked as a secretary for the Okaloosa County School District for 10 years. In her free time, Sara enjoyed gardening, watching NASCAR, spending time with her family, and doting on her grandchildren.
Sara was preceded in death by her husband Daniel F Price, parents Robert P and Sally L Metcalf, sisters Geraldine R Boswell, Corinne Gifford, Vivian Faye Howell, and brothers Robert L Metcalf, Aubrey V Metcalf, and James Warren Metcalf. She is survived by her three loving sons: Bruce Kenneth Price and his wife, Judy; Stanley David Price and his wife, Lea; and Thomas Roger Price. Sara was a loving Granny and was cherished by her grandchildren: Danielle and Brian Wilson, Ashley and Timmy Sallee, Robert Price, Justin and Amanda Price, Anna Price, Christa and Michael Baker, Peyton Maraman, Anthony Maraman, and Jeffery Collins, as well as her nine great-grandchildren: Lillian Jacka, McKenzie Smith, Courtney Wilson, Trentyn, Turner, and Tanner Sallee, Cianna Schloemer, Carter Price, and Jace Collins.
Services to honor and celebrate the life of Sara E Price will be held at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home on March 13, 2024. Visitation will begin at 11 am and
the funeral service, with Dr. Herstel Carter, officiating at noon. Following the service, Sara will be laid to rest at Sunset Cemetery in Valparaiso, Florida.
