In loving memory of Thomas Howard Nelson, born on May 24, 1963, who peacefully passed away on January 21, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
After graduating from high school in Republic Missouri, he dedicated 20 years of his life to the US Air Force, serving as an Aerospace Propulsion Craftsman with pride. Throughout his career, Tom’s exceptional service was recognized, as he earned the Air Force Commendation Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia),
Tom is preceded in death by both parents, Lois Love and Charles Nelson and sister, Laughvon Troxell.
He leaves behind his beloved partner of 17 years, Teri Stefke, her six children, their spouses, and six grandchildren. And Extended family. But overall, Tom was recognized as “Grand-dad Tom” by 17 kids. He is also survived by his sister Lula Troxell and her son Robert Powers, sister Anita Dowling, and her son Alex Heard. And his brother Dwayne Love.
Tom will be remembered for his passion for showing up to all his grandchildren’s functions and his steadfast work ethic. His love of archery, ATV adventures, playing on his Air Force squadron softball teams, and his unwavering support for Alabama football.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
