Timothy James Minette, 67, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025, peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.
Tim was born September 2, 1958, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, to James Wayne Minette and Shirley Irene Rick. He is survived by his wife Renhong Yi, his son Ricky Minette, his sisters Jamie Cline and Susan Kornegay (Donald), and his nieces Kara Cline and Angela Phillips. Tim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard.
Throughout Tim’s life, he was a traveler. As a military dependent, he lived in New Mexico, Kansas, Maryland, and Florida. After Tim graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in 1976, he completed diesel engine trade school in Nashville. Working in the oil field in many different roles, Tim also lived and worked in Louisiana and California, as well as many countries such as Australia, Indonesia, China, and Malaysia. He met his wife in China where they would eventually get married. Shortly after having their son, Tim and family would be moved to Malaysia where they lived for 13 years. Tim retired as a Principle Technical Sales Advisor in November 2024 and returned to Destin.
Though quiet and reserved, Tim carried a subtle, genuine humor that those close to him cherished. He will be remembered by the many close friends whose lives he touched throughout his life.
