Tommy E. Lamberth, age 83, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, leaving behind a life defined by service, curiosity, and deep love for his family.
Born on June 18, 1942, in Hanover, Alabama, Tommy was the son of Tommy L. Lamberth and Beulah Hazel Lamberth. He carried with him the values they instilled—hard work, integrity, and a quiet strength that showed in everything he did.
Tommy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant in Security Forces. His years in the military were a source of great pride, and he carried that sense of duty with him long after his service ended. He later continued working with the United States Postal Service, where his steady presence and reliability were appreciated by all who knew him.
Outside of work, Tommy had a true passion for the stories hidden in old things. He loved collecting antiques and was always on the lookout for unique bottles to add to his collection. As a registered Florida auctioneer, he found joy not just in the items themselves, but in bringing people together—especially when it meant supporting causes close to his heart. Charity auctions, particularly those benefiting children, were something he deeply cared about.
More than anything, Tommy will be remembered for the way he loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Wilma Johnson Lamberth, whose companionship meant the world to him; his stepdaughter, Kimberly J. Montgomery (James); his step-grandsons, Alex Montgomery and Charles Johnson; and his sister, Shirley Cunard (Sam). He also leaves behind beloved nieces—Jennifer Howard (Rodney) , Geri Ann Brown (Phillip) and Angie Varner (Debbie), two great nephews and two great great nephews—along with extended family and friends who will carry his memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepson, Craig Eugene Johnson.
Those who knew Tommy will remember his steady nature, his quiet sense of humor, and the way he could turn even a simple interest into something meaningful. Whether he was serving his country, helping others through charity work, or searching for the next unique treasure, he lived with purpose and heart.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home with James Long officiating. Interment will follow in Heritage Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services.
