Lt. Col/Ret. WALTER MARVIN BRIGMAN JR.
Walter Marvin Brigman Jr. passed away October 3, 2022. He was born in Latta, South Carolina on November 23, 1932. Walter was preceded in death by his son Walter Brigman III, and his parents Walter, Sr, mother Mary Bounds and sister Marion Nell Love, and brother Richard. Walter graduated from Clemson College and Troy State. He served twenty years in the Air Force flying more than 28 different airplanes. Walter won many awards in his military career including the Bronze Star and the Distinguished Flying Cross. He fought in the Vietnam War in 1965-1966. After combat, he became an Air Commando, and flew many missions all over the world.Upon retirement in 1975, he became co-owner of Miracle Strip Aviation and continued flying for another twenty-five years in civilian aviation.
Walter was married to Mary Laverne Kearney for 63 years. During retirement he became a Master Gardner, and enjoyed many things; fishing, cooking, football and Nascar racing. Walter had a great sense of humor and was blessed with a strong faith in our Lord. He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend.
He leaves behind his wife Mary, daughter Cheri Frazier, and son Joseph, grandchildren, Jacqueline Frazier, Ava and Cisco Betancourt, Shan Brigman and great- grandchildren, Sophia, Mia, Vivian and Jaxx. Funeral services will be held at Crosspoint Methodist Church, Crestview, FL on October 9th at 2:00 p.m.
