Walter Emmett Traxler Jr.

 January 26th, 1947 - October 24th, 2023

Emmett was born in Plant City, Florida to Walter E. Traxler Sr. & Ina L. Traxler. He graduated high school in 1965 from Plant City High School where he took the men's basketball team to the state championship. He went on to receive his bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Illinois University. In 1966, Emmett enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country for 20 years as an Avionics Technician. He served in Thailand during the Vietnam War & later in the 89th Airlift Presidential Division. He also served in the Nightwatch special team in Washington D.C., later serving in England, before retiring in California with the SR-71. He served 8 years with Lockheed Martin as an engineer. He then went on to own & run a successful flooring business in Niceville with his wife Lois for 26 years.

He is preceded in death by both his parents, his nephew Andrew Boswell & Brother in law Gary Spooner. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Lois Traxler and his two daughter's Renee Traxler & Monica Traxler. His granddaughters Haleigh Smith (Kyle), Carley Hunter (Ethan), Emily Clarrey (Dylan) & Annaliese Traxler. Great Grandchildren Isabel Smith, Liam Smith & Leighana Clarrey. Sister Nadine Boswell (John) and niece Amy Lefevre. Sister-in-law Cheryl Spooner, niece Kerri Gambrel, and nephew Marc Spooner. Emmett's funeral visitation will be Friday October 27th and begin at 3 PM at Church on Bayshore with a Service to follow at 4 PM.
