William Glen “W.G.” Porter, age 84 of DeFuniak Springs, Florida passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on November 20, 2021. He is preceded in death by parents G.E. and Alma Weekly Porter, sister Opal Bradley, and infant brother Royce. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years, Ramona Coggins Porter, daughter, Kay Porter Singleton, Pensacola, Florida, son Bobby and wife Missy, DeFuniak Springs, Florida, son Eddie Porter, of Milton, Florida, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Glen was a founding member of the Florida State Taxidermy Association and was a well known taxidermist in Niceville, Florida for over 60 years. He loved his antique cars and street rods, and built many over the years from the ground up. He loved hunting, fishing, and watching Alabama football. His favorite by far was family gatherings where Paw Paw would joke and play with the grandchildren and great grandchildren for hours.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, November, 23, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home in Niceville, Florida with graveside services immediately following officiated by Minister Mike Porter at Rocky Memorial Cemetery in Niceville.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Porter Jr., Coty Porter, Drew Porter, Kamden Porter, Michael Cannon, and Joe Hahr.
We especially want to thank Missy Porter for her tireless love, devotion, and help especially over the last 2 weeks. We also want to thank Kalah Porter for her help getting Covenant hospice in the home and for the love she gave to both Nanny and Paw Paw on a daily basis for the past 2 weeks.
