Zigmas Krasauskas

Zigmas "Ski" Krasauskas passed on June 4, 2023, in Niceville, Florida. He was born on February 21, 1938 to Vincas and Maria Krasauskas in Ziezmariai, Lithuania.

After graduating from St. Rita Catholic High School in Chicago, Illinois, Zigmas joined the United States Air Force, serving 30 years and retired in 1988 as a Chief Master Sergeant. His duty stations included Mallorca, Spain, Bitburg, Germany, Bunker Hill, Indiana, Air Force Academy in Colorado, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, and Patch Barracks and Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. After retiring, he worked for the Civil Service for 12 years in the finance department on both Hurlbert Field and Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. 

Ski was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved spending time outdoors. He never met a stranger. He was a jokester and loved to make people smile and laugh. He will be missed!

Zigmas was preceded in death by his parents, Vincas and Maria Krasauskas, and his sister, Stephanie Hampton. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Brigita Krasauskas, daughters Loretta de la Cruz (Angel), Renata Setter (David), and Monica Krasauskas, sons Vincent Krasauskas (Liebe) and Edward Krasauskas, as well as seven grandchildren.
